Check the cooling fan relay. The cooling fan module is supposed to cool the car parts when they get too hot. If your cooling fans do not stop even after the temperature has been regulated or even when the car has been switched off then it is probably faulty and needs repair. The cooling fan should come on immediately or within the next couple of minutes.

When you car gets too hot it needs a little extra boost to cool down and the radiator cooling fan is the part for the job. Check for proper operation of fan. To better understand the radiator cooling fan you need to understand how the cooling system works. On many modern vehicles if you want to confirm whether your cooling fan is in working order you can start the engine and let it idle.

The position of this switch depends on your car. Set your air conditioning to the max setting and turn it on. Well your car has one of its own. To check it you need to unplug it ground the terminal from that end and take the other end of the ground wire to the negative terminal of the battery.

Check your car manual to locate it. If the fan starts working then all you need is a new sensor for the cooling fan. They do this until the temperature comes down to normal levels. Thermostatically controlled motors do not work the fan until the engine coolant rises above normal operating temperature and then switch off when it has cooled down again.

To check that the fan is working listen for it cutting in and out and watch the temperature gauge. The more your car s engine works the more heat it produces.
